Men's Group for Problematic Sexual Behaviors
If not now . . . when?
If your life is being diminished by one or
more of the following,
- Compulsive Internet porn use
- Compulsive escort use
- Compulsively searching dating apps
- Compulsive cybersex
. . . this male identified group is for you
This will be a closed group, limited to 8 male identified, ages 18 and up. We are offering a no obligation 20-minute pre-screening for appropriateness of fit. This will be a SEX POSITIVE group and will focus not only on what is considered “unhealthy,” but also what is considered “healthy” for each man. We will work together through the Sexual Reflections: A Workbook for Designing and Celebrating Your Sexual Health Plan by Dr. Alexandra Katehakis.
Our Approach
We will be utilizing Bill Herring’s “Theory Neutral,” Non-Pathologizing Framework for working with all forms of problematic sexual behaviors, which looks at the following five variables.
- Commitments — Are you keeping your promises?
- Values — Are you okay with what you are doing?
- Control — Are you in control of yourself?
- Consequences — Is everything okay?
- Sexual Responsibility — Are you taking responsibility with others?
“Problematic Sexual Behaviors” are any sexual behaviors that result in negative consequences or interfere with one’s values, commitments, self-control, and sexual responsibility. This definition provides a more inclusive framework to look at all forms of problematic sexual behavior without requiring one to take the label of being an “addict,” and allows those suffering in any one of the five variables mentioned above a place for refuge.
If you are having problems in any of these areas, then this group is for you.
I practice trauma integrated care by utilizing Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), EMDR, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF/CBT). I am a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
I do this work because I am a wounded healer and I’m inspired by stewarding others, and their families, to co-create greater motivation in their quest to achieve inner wisdom, sustainability and well-being, which allows for the capacity to thrive.
